LO3- Be able to research and plan content for an article*

What are news values?
News value is how relivant the topic is and if it directly affects the people involved in the story.

  • Frequency ( How often something is in the news)
For example Donald Trumps frquency in the news.



  • Threshold ( the amount of superlatives or clear hyperbole of statment)
These headlines are used to catch the audiences attention.




  • Unambiguity
Exact facts due to people wanting to know facts and the truth. e.g. BBC Sports


  • Meaningfulness and newswthiness
Targeted at an ABC1 Group

  • Consonance
Donald Trump camapigs in contact with the russians.
